Since officially opening our MOBIS Georgia (MGL) module plant in 2008, I have proudly witnessed the growth and strengthening of our collaborative relationships with our customer, Kia Motors Manufacturing Group (KMMG); our MOBIS Alabama plant (MAL), and with our Team Members, suppliers, vendors and the surrounding community of West Point, Georgia.
From the beginning, our plans were to manufacture an annual 300 thousand units of key module parts, such as the FEM (Front End Module), cockpit module, and chassis module for installation in SUVs for North America that were to be manufactured at the KMMG plant. What started as a one shift operation has now expanded to include three shifts and an expansion of our facility to include over 266,000 square feet of production and warehousing space. In early 2012, with over 750 Team Members and contract partners to thank, we will celebrate the completion of our 500,000 unit.
Through the continued efforts and dedication of our Team Members, who embrace the MOBIS Core Values of Customer, People, Challenge, Collaboration, and Globility; MOBIS Georgia will continue producing high quality modules long into the future.
Again, welcome to MOBIS Georgia where together we are Driving Science.

The Georgia Plant was established on May 17, 2007. It began its ground clearing in October of 2007, and in just 15 months, construction was completed. It then began to hire and train Team Members that would be the backbone of our production process. With 237 Team Members mass production began on November 16, 2009. MOBIS was running a 1 shift operation producing the parts for the Kia Sorento. Eleven months later, MOBIS Alabama\Georgia Plant had grown to 474 Team Members and launched its second shift to support production of a second vehicle, the Hyundai Santa Fe. Without pausing, MOBIS Alabama\Georgia Plant continued to grow its ranks and launch a 3rd shift, with 671 Team Members, to produce the parts for the new Kia Optima.
